What a hidden gem! My aunt got my boyfriend and I a gift card for Christmas and we had a delightful time! The food was thoughtfully prepared and incredibly flavorful (the beet salad was out of this world and the filet was the best I’ve had in the valley; my boyfriend said the scallops were UNREAL!!), the cocktails were delicious (the Tonka Old Fashioned is a must—deep, sweet, warm flavors add a delightful twist to a classic), and all of the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. 12/10 experience, can’t wait to come back :)

How did I not know about this place? It was so good and we will be coming back. Everything from the service to the food was amazing! There are so many good options and we can’t wait to come back when the menu changes. The mung bean crepe with pork confit was spectacular. The flavors were great. The mock tails were just OK, didn’t have a ton of flavor for the price. Vegetarian asparagus pasta was so good (size pictured is a half-plate and that was enough for me to split with my wife). For the main dish, we got the braise short beef rib, and the halibut. I never order fish, because I’m so nervous it will taste fishy but it didn’t at all. The flavor combos with the fish were spot on. The space was a little bit smaller than expected which is fine, just informing. By the time the 7 o’clock reservations all showed up, the place didn’t get quite noisy.
Had amazing meal with friends last night. The food is always thoughtful, creative and well executed. We are fish/veg and there are always several choices for us. Honestly it’s difficult to decide what to get. The cocktails are also terrific! Our servers were relaxed and attentive and honestly knowledgeable of the menu. All of my food was great, the highlight for me were fried oysters on special. They tasted like they were fresh shucked directly over the fryer. The cost is a bit higher than some of our regular spots, but the quality is reflected in that, and well deserved. A wonderful spot for a beautiful meal.
Went here for my birthday so we were really celebrating. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The food was fabulous! Boulettes were yummy, a half Caesar salad was perfect, and the short rib with puréed potato was truly some of the most delicious foods I’ve ever put in my mouth. So rich and flavorful! Couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience. Is The Waxwing Cafe worth the expense? Heck yeah it is!
This place became my favorite after the first time I visited. The staff is attentive, funny, and kind. And the food is truly out of this world! Perfect for a celebration, or just an excuse to get out of the house and treat yourself to something creative, fresh, and exciting that still feels like home. Calling ahead is a must as the cozy chic atmosphere fills up quick. If I could rate the Waxwing Cafe any higher, I would!
